Create an original, kid-friendly, fresh blueberry recipe and YOU COULD WIN CASH! $500 for first place and $250 for each of five runners-up.
Put on your creativity cap and think FRESH BLUEBERRIES! Use blueberries in beverages, soups, baked goods, sandwiches, salads, snacks or desserts that children would approve. Get started! Recipe entries will be judged on:
- Kid-friendliness
- Taste
- Appearance
- Ease of preparation
- Significant use of fresh blueberries
Recipe rules:
- Maximum of eight ingredients (water, salt and pepper are "free" - they do not count as ingredients.)
- Be specific with measurements, directions, cooking times, and the size of cans, packages and pans.
- Recipes may not include other berries, but may include other fruit including but not limited to bananas, citrus, kiwi, mangos, melons, pineapple, grapes, or tree fruit (apples, plums, pears, cherries, etc.)
- All recipes entered in the contest must be original. Recipes that are found in other sources, such as books, magazines, websites or blogs, will be disqualified.
- Recipes that won a prize in any other contest are not eligible.
- You can enter as many recipes as you like; each must be submitted separately. Each contestant in this contest can win only one prize regardless of the number of recipes entered.
- Judging will be conducted by a panel of food experts.
- The decision of the judges is final.
How to enter the contest:
- In the entry form, provide your original, kid-friendly, fresh blueberry recipe and a photo of the dish (.jpg, .gif or .png format).
- The maximum image upload size is 500k. If you do not have any image editing software you can use a free service like image optimizer.
- Entries must be received between Monday, July 5, 2010, at 9:00 am ET, and 11:59 pm ET on Sunday,July 31, 2010.
- Contestants must be at least 18 years old, or must be represented by an adult at least 18 years old as of July 5, 2010.
- Winners will be notified on or before August 30, 2010, and will be announced on www.blueberrycouncil.org/contest and on "Blueberries", the Facebook fan page.
- All entries can be viewed at www.blueberrycouncil.org/contest.

All written descriptions and photos will be displayed in the "Kids Love Blueberries" contest Gallery. Your name will appear with your entry but we promise to protect your privacy. Your contact information will never be shared with anyone.

Names of the winners will be posted on the Gallery Page and on the blueberries fan page on Facebook on or before August 30, 2010.
