For a Healthier Thanksgiving, Start by Adding “Fun”

With the holidays quickly approaching, and so much attention paid to the Thanksgiving feast, I always try to be mindful of my portions this time of year and to use the time off from work to get in my workouts and be active with my family. I’m also experimenting with healthier ways of cooking family favorites. Since my kids are loving blueberries, I’m going to try throwing dried blueberries into my stuffing for an extra bit of chewy sweetness, or flavoring mashed sweet potatoes with fiery spices instead of loads of butter. This year, I think I may try a Blueberry Sauce as an option to our cranberry sauce and see if I get any takers. I can’t wait to see what everyone thinks!
