Carolina-Style Blueberry BBQ Sauce

A bright vinegar and mustard-based blueberry-infused BBQ sauce that shines on pulled pork or any other protein. Also great as a dip or dressing.



  • 3 1/3 cups dijon mustard
  • 3 1/3 cups apple cider vinegar
  • 4 1/2 ounces Worcestershire
  • 1 3/4 tablespoons kosher salt
  • 1/3 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 3/4 canned blueberries, drained



  1. Place all ingredients into a large blender.
  2. Pulse the blender 5 times and then puree all the ingredients together until well-blended at medium speed.
  3. Pour sauce in a container and cover tightly. Label and date.
  4. Store sauce in the refrigerator for up to a month.


This item was designed to be served with smoked pulled pork, but it can be utilized in a broad range of ways, including as a traditional “mop method” BBQ sauce, as a marinade, or as a coating for fried chicken or pork to be included with a blueberry-centric slaw in a hot sandwich.
