Saucy Blueberries


  • 2 to 3 tablespoons sugar*
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 pound (3 cups) frozen blueberries, not thawed


  1. In medium saucepan, stir 2 tablespoons sugar and cornstarch together until blended
  2. Add frozen berries, toss until uniformly coated
  3. Cover and cook over very low heat, stirring occasionally, until the berries thaw and the mixture starts to boil, 5 to 7 minutes
  4. Remove lid, cook, stirring constantly, until boiling and thickened, 1 to 2 minutes
  5. Stir in additional sugar, if desired

Number of servings (yield): 4 (about 2 cups)
